I am half-way through the book and can't wait to finish. The pace and repetition is perfect and I have no problem retaining the material. At the beginning of the book, he said don't try to remember everything and just go with the flow. I was skeptical at first but it turned out to be perfect advice. I absolutely love learning languages and trying out new language learning products! My Spanish is quite good, my French is survival, my Korean is upper beginner, and I'm now on a journey with Mandarin Chinese. Paul Noble's Method is like a current generation version of the Michel Thomas Method, but with a more modern feel and several quality of life improvements for language learners. I purchased it yesterday, and have learned with it for about an hour so far. My initial impressions are quite good! Paul obviously put a lot of thought into the course, because he made a few choices that are VERY good. For instance, he has two native Mandarin speakers working with him. A female speaker and a male speaker. This is very impressive because almost no language learning products use both male and female speakers in the same product. In many languages males and females speak differently, so being able to hear the difference is incredibly useful. Also, the female speaker speaks the sentence in a slower fashion, and the male speaker then will speak the same sentence at normal speed. This way you can hear the words broken down, as well as at full speed. I am using this course in conjunction with other methods, and it has already helped me figure out how I can use vocabulary that I've learned from other materials. Paul's way of logically explaining how to use Chinese is fantastic. I'm super impressed so far and look forward to finishing the course!I pre-ordered this course directly course through Audible. The best course I've ever tried in learning Mandarin (trust me, I tried A LOT). He made it very attractive with a right speed. I pre-ordered the next course which would be available next year. So sad about waiting.

I love how easy it is to follow. He speaks in an organized manner. I am on chapter 49, and it is only been about a week. I love it and listen to it every chance I get. I've learned so much! Great product!

I love that he doesn't start out with "Hi, My name is..." He starts with "I would like to order..." and goes from there. When I got to the review at the end, it was clear I actually had learned a ton! On to the next series.

I love it- what it is is an abridgment of Spinoza's other works. Its nowhere near sufficient in itself to understand him, but will help by getting rid of the rigorous geometric-proof form of his other work.Ok, let me just describe what's in this book, so you know what your getting (for free, might i add?); it begins with a somewhat brief bio of Spinoza, followed by an extensive summery and explanation of Spinoza's philosophy, obviously from the perspective of the author. What follows this is the bulk of the book; Spinoza's philosophy reordered. Instead of the geometrical form he writes in, which can make him difficult to understand, the writer puts everything into aphorisms under three major headings-1. On God2. On Man3. On Man's Well-BeingUltimately, for what it is- an easier read of Spinoza's work- its an excellent resource.

One section of a chapter is not necessarily like another. When he writes in a straight forward manner his logic can be thought provoking. Other times he seems desperate to connect the dots with the most obtuse and idiosyncratic reasoning possible. I wasn't interested in an in depth look at Spinoza's antiquated and incredibly boring writing style. I just wanted his ideas.

Well translated and organized. Taken in context of when these ideas were first written, they still set a good framework for a reasoned and logical treatment of the human condition, and our place and function in nature.

For any one who is trying to understand philosophy, theology, religion, etc. This is an important book. I can see how Spinoza inspired the likes of Thomas Payne, and Albert Einstein, with his appeals to reason, and the intellect. I have it 4 stars because of the 17th century wiring style, which makes it a laborious read, but over all a very interesting book. I recommend this to any who wish to understand western philosophy.

Allison Dubois is not a real medium, please don't waste your money. She is a joke and gives real mediums a bad name.

One of the better books I've read by a medium. Allison is down to earth and you can see the similarities between the real Allison and the fictional one that was based on her. On occasion, Allison will mention her beliefs but she doesn't push them on the reader like some other authors. I also liked that her husband, Joe, wrote a chapter about what it's like to have a medium for a wife.

I loved this lady as I saw her on the Ricki Lake show and immediately bought the book. I'm in the process of reading it and it's wonderful. These experiences some people in this life get to have are great for us viewers to peak into. She is one lucky lady and I'd surely love to have her as a friend. To be able to help people with her gift and let others, like me, see what she does. What a gift for me and for you to take advantage of. To walk a mile in her shoes.............WOW! Buy the book. I was hooked on the tv show "Medium" as soon as I saw the first episode. When I heard that a book was out by the real life medium, I was anxious to read it. I like the show because little tidbits such as Allison's dread of entering hospitals because of the spirits she encounters, and how her husband reacts to her feelings, give the program authenticity. The book is more closely related than I imagined, yet it is not a repeat of the tv show. Allison's husband writes a chapter near the end of the book, giving his own perspective, and Allison advises parents on how to react if their child/children tell them about seeing someone that the parent can't see, etc. The book is uplifting, too. I have always felt close to my grandfather, who died thirty-five years ago, and my uncle who died in the last five years. Allison gives me hope that they are with me.If you are looking for a book that tells you only about encounters with spirits, this is not the book. If you want to know about this sensitive woman's life as an assistant for the DA's office, about psychic children, and how it feels to live with a psychic, this is the book. I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I loved reading Allison's book, she is very straightforward and confident in her ability!I will be starting her next book soon and would love to do a reading with her someday.I highly recommend reading this book if you have recently lost a loved one.

Having seen spirits now for some years and not knowing if anyone else had and how every one else would see them, this book was an inspiriation for me. It also spoke to me because the Author is 3 years younger than our dau and since my mom is my spirit guide and she always uses the number 3 to signal to me of something to note, I now realise that our dau is also a ghost whisper, a sensitve, an intuitive. This is important for me to be able to help her accept her gift from God.But this book on its own is fantastic. Heartwarming. an outreaching to those who have lost their loved ones and who feel a need to know that they are stil close. It also shows how a normal person can, if they so desire, to reach out on their own to their beloved. And it also stresses how a ghost whisperer works. That a spirit comes when it has something to share and cannot be brought to the person by the will of the person doing the reading. It is in the power of the intuitive to command at will to see circumstances. It is only if the spirits wish to help.This book also helped me to know what my gift was. And how it is meant to be used.so much information that it deserves a 5 star

Allison's book is not Hemingway, and it's not epic, it's simply her telling her story so that the reader can get a glimpse into how a full-time psychic detective comes to be, what her life is like, has been like, and some key experiences. It's a very easy read, and she is factual and straightforward about what she does, who she is, and where she is going.It's refreshing to see someone who is obviously comfortable with who she is, despite being so publicly scrutinized and sometimes shredded up (note the nasty reviews here...). There is public record of the effectiveness of her work, so anyone who wants to go that route could, in fact, verify her work. She is obviously the real deal. And here is a person, by the way, who is doing enormous service to us all by finding missing children! Missing children! How many of us average individuals could say that we do anything nearly as meaningful? That fact alone should garner everyone's full support, IMHO.Anyway, given the fact that she is who she is, what Allison has to say about our loved ones who've passed on is really rather interesting, and I would think for many, comforting (unless you get wigged out by the whole subject of life after death). If you've ever wondered, this book should help a great deal, since you don't have to wonder about the source.And speaking of validation, I enjoyed the TV show, but in it her husband is constanting invalidating her which gets on my last nerve.... oh well. And it does get a bit violent and freaky from time to time, those being the types of things she deals with...However I recommend the book, from both an intellectual and an emotional point-of-view (if you're open to these types of ideas and experiences.... if not, then go away, don't buy it, for heaven's sake, don't buy it!). :)

I read it and it is a bit preachy. I got to the end and missing the last page and maybe part of page 193 also.

This is the second book I have read by Allison Dubois. I find her gift amazing and she writes with passion and confidence. Her re telling of readings is comforting and intriguing. If you have lost a loved one her books bring peace and stories you can relate to. I am a bereaved parent.

My one year old like to open the flaps but cares nothing about the story. The flaps are a little thin, but they have only been bent and not ripped so far. He does pull this book out of the bookshelf frequently.

This is a must-have volume of a portion of O. Winston Link's photographic legacy of the steam-powered Norfolk & Western. The photographs are inexpressibly magnificent. I don't think anyone will ever capture the power of the iron horse better than Link. I subtracted one star from my rating for a silly reason which nevertheless really peeves me. The text in this book is in a large bold ugly typeface which is an extreme distraction from viewing the pictures.... But: don't let that stop you from owning this collection of exceptional photographs.

My grandfather was a conductor on the N&W railroad before I was born. I lived a block away from an N&W mainline track and remember the steam trains that passed by when I was very young. Because of that background, I wanted this book to supplement all those fond memories. It did not disappoint!The artwork (photographs) were reproduced well and the text describes not only historical aspects of the photographs, but, also, documents the railroad workers' lives -- those who maintained and ran the big iron horses. Many of the photographs are well known because of the technology that O. Winston Link used. The large strob lights that almost lit up the night (and the subjects) to daylight brightness was a hallmark of Link's. Very impressive!If you are in to N&W steam history, or just steam locomotion history, in general, this is a book you want in your library. There is a companion book about the last steam trains in America that I would recommend, also.

At the end of the eighties I saw that the book was sold in many bookshops. Stupid that I didn't bought it, but I could always consult a copy in the public library till last year, when it was removed from the shelves. So there was one possiblity left : buy it on Amazon.it's astonishing that in the fifties and sixties his beautiful photographs didn't find great audience and that Winston O Link had to wait so long to see his photographs hanging in galleries or published in books.

After reading all of the Timeless Fairy Tales, I was so excited to learn about Angelique from her early days. This book does not disappoint!If you haven't read any of the Timeless Fairy Tales series, no worries! This book starts before any of them. You are right at the beginning!This book starts just as Angelique is finishing her schooling, and must be approved to become an apprentice, or be disgraced and have her magic torn away from her forever. Angelique struggles with her magic, believing what so many have told her -- her magic is dangerous, and therefore can only be used for death. Can Enchanter Evariste, the master who takes her on as an apprentice, teach her that her magic can be a force for good?Filled with both glimpses of people you know and love from the future, and exciting new stories and characters, this thrilling book will not disappoint!

Finally! I have been waiting for Angelique's story almost from book 1 in the Timeless Fairy Tales series. I was not disappointed at all. I stayed up far too late reading this last night. And it ended! I know the story is too big for one book, but I want the rest now. On the plus side, I have time to reread the first 12 books while waiting for the next one to come out in April.It was so much fun to read about Angelique and Evariste from the beginning of their student/teacher relationship. And I loved the inclusion of all the extra side fairy tales, like Goldilocks and the Emperor's New Clothes. It will be interesting to reread the previous books with this new knowledge of Angel's character and prior experiences.

First off, I wish April wasn't so far away! I want book 2, and 3, now!Only a very few minor spelling/grammatical errors.Angelique is full of spitfire and fear. She is clever, but broken inside. She has reservations, but also doesn't want to give up. Her story is a good one, and slightly parallels the Snow Queen's as far as her feelings about her magic goes.I enjoyed seeing how her magic training progressed, and how certain characters and plots from other stories in the Timeless Fairytales series were brought in.**SPOILER**It almost seems there is a disconnect with the timing of this book and some of the others in the Timeless Fairytales series, namely the discovery and training of Stil, and when he makes Master Craftmage before the events in Rumplestiltskin. I'll just have to read everything again (oh such a chore! <-- that was sarcasm in case you couldn't figure it out).I have a feeling there are members of the Veneno Conclave, to include committee members and even the Headmaster of the school, who are part of the black mage group. Some of them seem too shady to be good guys.The testing area for magic needs to be explored more in another series, perhaps Ms. Shea has something brewing in her brilliant head already? It was quite a big thing to drop in reader's laps without any prior mention or reasoning behind it. Leaving it as just something that was always used, even before the Snow Queen's time, makes it almost a cop-out in the storytelling.Overall, I very much enjoyed this book, and am eagerly awaiting the next one, which I imagine will coincide with the 11 books of the Timless Fairytales series. Now is a good time to re-read them so that I am ready for Fairy Tale Enchantress #2.

I just finished and there is a second part!!!!! I seriously feel like I'm dying! This ends right where the timeless fairy tales begins. My guess is the next book is Angelique's story through that serries. I loved seeing Evarste fall in love with her. I was alittle annoyed that she never noticed and can't wait for her to realise that she loves him. I think she is already in love with him, but because of all that is going on and the fact she wasnt looking for romance she is just clueless about it. Lol I loved how she thinks he is part mad because of the unwanted attention he pays her 😂 Enjoyed seeing characters from timeless fairy tales in this, especially Stil.There are extras on K.M. Shae's website for those of you who want to read more!

Spoilers ahead...I’ve loved Angelique for so long through the other characters’ stories. I’ve felt and identified with her pain, fears, self doubt, frustration, anger and even bitterness. And I love that we’ve gotten to finally meat Evariste. Im just not totally sold on how he treats Angelique. It’s almost predatory and not right from his position of power especially with her very obvious discomfort and wish that he wouldn’t do the things he does or touch her the way he does. I understand that the awkwardness of the position of power is the point and is supposed to show the evolution of Evariste falling in love (and even Angelique), but as these books are female empowering, I would have liked to have read a story that doesn’t infringe upon Angelique’s right to a safe learning environment free from harassment. That being said, I still eagerly await the next few books.

This story was amazing and although I spent most of the day reading it instead of doing anything grown up and responsible, I couldn't believe when it was over. Despite knowing some of the events that would happen due to the interconnection with the Timeless Fairytales, I still felt the full emotional impact and there were plenty of surprises. My head is just spinning with all the theories I'm dying to know the answer to. April can't come soon enough!
